This refreshing and energizing watermelon detox cooler is a great way to start your morning, or get you through that afternoon slump. It’s full of vitamins, nutrients, pre/probiotics and more!
We are going to continue to take a bit of a break from my South America trip because it’s time for this month’s May Recipe Redux post! The following is the prompt for this month:
Probiotic Cocktails and Gut-Health Mocktails
We’re seeing probiotic cocktails and gut-health mocktails popping up on trendy drink menus. Show us your favorite way to bring these healthy beverages onto your own kitchen cocktail menu.
Although I will admit that I just recently tried komboucha for the very first time! I know, I’m generally pretty late on all the “hot” trends, but I LOVED IT. Granted, I got it homemade, fresh and organic at a local farmer’s market. SO GOOD. Not going to lie, I’ve not tried any other variety, but I want to start making my own. It seems pretty easy, and I just bought a SCOBY..so well see. I don’t really know what I am suppose to do with said SCOBY, but I suppose I’ll try and figure it out. HA!
Although that would be an ideal post for this, I haven’t started yet! So stay tuned..as long as all goes well, on a post about that! If you have any tips, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
This post makes use of Amazing Grass’s Green Superfood Watermelon Energy Powder. It’s a greens based powder (as described), and as I mentioned above its vegan, gluten free and packed with natural antioxidant, nutrient, pre/probiotic blends. It does have a tiny bit of caffeine in it so make sure not to drink it too late.
It is a great alternative to all of the pre/post workouts and energy drinks that are packed with chemicals and who knows what else when you need an extra boost.
Probiotics as you will see in other posts by other redux members are great for your gut health. They are the “healthy bacteria” that you need to properly digest the food that you are eating. (Prebiotics-think fiber- are also great for your gut health, too! So you should try to incorporate both types into your daily diet).
After you make this drink, make sure to click on the recipe redux button below to check out the other probiotic rich cocktails and mocktails!

- 1-2 dash turmeric
- 1 dash pepper
- 1-2 dash cinnamon
- 2 cups water

Top with the rest of your ingredients including the ice*

-
Pour into a large glass, sip with a straw and enjoy
Recipe Notes
Use as much ice as you want. The thicker you want it, the more ice you will need. I used about 1.5 trays of ice cubes
I recommend drinking this through a straw since acid is not good for your teeth. I would not recommend drinking ACV straight because of this.

Thank you! I hope yours is as well!
I can go for anything with watermelon!! yum!
Oh man me too. I am so excited for it to be watermelon season soon
This sounds so good! I have never seen the watermelon greens powder..I’m going to look for that when I run out of my plain old greens one. How thick does this end up being – more smoothie like or similar to green juice?
This is great because there is so much packed into one servings of the powder! The thickness is completely up to you. If you want it more similar to green juice, I would lessen the psyllium and only add a tiny bit of ice, or just not blend in the ice. I like my drinks thicker so I add more ice.
I could use a glass of this today after all the weekend eats and crazy schedule. We had pizza twice, which was good but I’m craving all the veggies today.
I know what you mean about those days! Your pizzas always look so incredible though and you are so creative with your toppings! So I can’t blame you for having pizza twice haha
I am going to find that powder- this looks fantastic and I bet so refreshing for summer!
Yeah, you get a great dose of nutrients/vitamins etc with each serving. You may need to get used to the taste first, since its a greens powder, but once you do it is quite refreshing!
wow I have never heard of watermelon powder! How interesting
I hadn’t either! It’s packed with so many great ingredients though!
Oooh watermelon powder?! Sounds delicious!
At first I wasn’t so sure of it since it is a greens powder, but like many things, once you get used to it, you like it!
