It took us 4 days to drive and transplant me to my new residence. That’s a long trip! Thank goodness there were 4 of us to trade places every four or so hours since we had to get my car down and the moving truck.
Moving Day
I was a bit nervous that perhaps not all of my things would fit in the moving truck I rented. It’s not that I have a ton, per say it’s just that I have some bigger, somewhat awkward pieces of furniture in particular that are not packing friendly. But I figured, worse comes to worse I’ve got my super strong brother and it could be all like:
But, I also knew that with me and my father packing the truck, it would be packed tight with (likely) room to spare even with all of my stuff. Packing is a major forte of mine. If there is anyway possible for something to fit into something, regardless if looks impossible, I will get it to fit. It’s a mad skill of mine.
I get people all the time saying, “Oh I can’t get this to fit, I need another bag”, or something along those lines and I’ll take one look at all the stuff and be like “Nah, that can all fit in that little bag easy. Just dump out what you have and I’ll make it fit.” LOL.
I get this skill from my dad. So, with the both of us analyzing and making the use of all the space to it’s max potential, I knew we’d get everything to fit even though it looked like I had so much to put into the little truck. And that, is exactly what we did.
I’m very proud of our teamwork. With all of us working together we moved all my stuff out and packed the truck up in an HOUR. It was amazing. But like I referenced in my last post, I’m pretty much a pro at this point at packing and moving. We are a great team, too and I’m super thankful that my family is often ready, willing and available to help me when called upon.
The Drive
We decided just to mainly drive and get to where we were going. The car followed the truck the whole way since the truck had to go slower. This was the hardest part for me. As you may recall, I can have some road rage moments haha. I also don’t really pay attention all that much. Do you do the same thing? I don’t know, I sort of zone out and don’t really pay attention to where I’m going, I just sort of get there I guess, lol. (Safely, I might add).
Perhaps it’s because I’m too busy watching the cars around me in case they try to pull anything funny or (MAJOR PET PEEVE OF MINE) try to get all up in my lane without a turn signal (and then probably messing up my cruise lol). Or, the people on their phones drifting ALL INTO MY LANE. GOSH! Yes, that must be it, I must be too busy watching and dealing with other drivers.
Anywho, this is never much of a problem except when your tasked with following a moving truck. A couple times I almost forgot and started looking in my mirrors as if I were checking to see if I could get over to pass, but caught myself. The worst, though? When there were two of the exact same moving vans all of a sudden in the two lanes ahead of me (along with a lot of other traffic). I was like “OH MAN, I’ve got to seriously pay attention right meow”. I felt sort of like I was playing that three cup and ball game? Where you have to watch carefully as the person is mixing them all up?
Now that was tricky. However, I was successful! Woot, woot! It really tested my already short attention span, though lol. Anyway, we got really lucky through the entire drive. Great weather and not a whole lot of construction, or traffic. Do you know what else is great? Pancakes. So I encourage you to try these out! So good, but yet good for you! Go ahead and put these strawnana and chocolate chip peanut butter protein pancakes on your weekend to do list π

How are you still posting recipes when you’re in the middle of a move?! You’re like a blogging goddess.
It’s been sooo hard. I’ve got a lot of recipes saved up that I’ve been working with thankfully because I haven’t had a chance to make anything lately. Actually trying to write posts and get all that stuff up in the middle of this craziness has been difficult. Once my residency really starts up I’m not sure if I’ll be able to keep up with it, or not :(. I’ll just have to feel it out I suppose.
Congrats on a smooth move! It’s nice to have family help out with stuff like that. Especially on a 4-day move. Yikes! That’s a long haul. And I’m like you – I tend to get a bit road ragey. Ugh. Ah well. We can’t be perfect, right? Haha.
These pancakes sound like the bomb! Nice & easy peasy =)
Thanks so much for sharing at Healthy Vegan Fridays, I’m pinning & sharing. Have a fabulous (and hopefully relaxing!) week.
Thanks! We got incredibly lucky I think with the move and with having my family around to help. Just dropped them off at the airport. SO sad, but so glad that I had them around. Haha nope we all can’t be perfect that’s the truth. They are super yummy..I’d highly recommend them! I hope you have a fabulous week too! Mine is pretty jammed packed with things to do, but hoping that all goes smoothly, as well!

They were SO good. Easy too which is even better. I’m a huge fan of working extra protein into my meals (and fiber too!)
