It’s that time of the month again! Following is this month’s prompt for the Recipe Redux:
Rise and Shine with a Savory Breakfast
The trend of protein-packed breakfasts is catching on…and back-to-school time is looming. This month, show us new healthy takes on eating savory or dinner-inspired dishes for breakfast. Think egg burritos, beans and rice, or maybe even pasta?!
As you may know, I generally prefer a sweet oatmeal breakfast. Savory isn’t really my thing UNLESS it’s eggs. I LOVE eggs. Recently, I’ve been eating those mostly for breakfast because that’s something healthy (compared to a lot of not so great options) in the hospital.
Prior to starting residency here over a year ago, I usually had some sort of oatmeal concoction for breakfast and regularly had some sort of egg concoction for dinner. This worked out great because I loved both things and would happily eat breakfast twice a day haha.
So, when reading this prompt, I decided that my savory dish would have to have eggs in it. As for the dinner part? Well (fortunately, or not) pizza is a huge staple in many families diet. Why not make it a breakfast pizza?!?! Yes, perfect.
This pizza is super easy to make and can be made for an individual person! Make a bunch and let everyone top their own! With the flat out crust, it makes it a healthier crust than the typical pizza dough you get from the restaurant, or store. Major plus!
While you are waiting for your pizza to bake, make sure to check out some of the other savory dinner for breakfast ideas from the other redux bloggers!
