This month’s recipe redux is a deliciously simple, healthy and fiber packed crunchy treat that will be perfect to make for an upcoming Oscar party, or anytime for that matter. Crunch? Check Clean? Check. Vegan? Check. Glutenfree? Check. Protein? Check. Fiber? Check. Sounds like a wholesome snack/appetizer etc to me!
Somehow it is already almost the end of February. I’m not really sure where this month went to, but end of month=time for the recipe redux recipe.
This month’s theme is all about the Oscars. The prompt is as follows:
Oscar Movie Inspiration:
The Academy Awards will be February 24 – so let’s head to the movies – and into the kitchen. Show us your favorite movie-themed recipe; it might be a recreation of your favorite meal from a movie or a perfect appetizer to serve at an Oscar viewing party.
Hopefully this year’s Oscar’s are less controversial? (Maybe that is the right word? Not sure)
Buutttt…maybe not. I’m not even sure if they have found a host. Who knows, I’ve just heards lots about the Oscar’s for this year that started so long ago.
Even though things seem like they have to be SOOOOO polictially correct (but seriously, it’s like someone is offended by anything that someone will do. It is getting ridiculous. Just be nice to people. This is the biggest issue. Why are people just not nice/good people? What happened?? It’s really not that hard.) Sorry, I digress.
In terms of the actual Oscar’s, I’ve never personally watched it, or been to an Oscar party. I haven’t had cable in many many years, for starters. Also, it’s late at night and I don’t have that kind of time. I don’t find it all that interesting. However, I do like to look at pictures over the next days to see what people wore. I love fashion and think it would be so fun to be dressed for an event like that. I mean, look at what Nicole Kidman wore. OMG. SO cute and she looks amazing in the dress, too.
So, I am looking forward to viewing the fashion. However, I don’t envy these stars night of. I think it is a very long production and I’m not sure if they even get a break to eat? Not sure how that works, but it doesn’t sound terribly pleasant. I hope it is a comfortable temperature too and not freezing. That would be the worst.
Anyway, during your Oscar party, you should have plenty of snacks! Include this crunchy appetizer/snack for a healthy treat that I swear tastes just like a cinnamon roll! (Even though it may not taste healthy!) Click on the recipe redux link below to see what other appetizers and snacks you can make for your Oscar party!
Cinnamon roll #protein popcorn for the win. Try out this satisfying, healthy treat tonight. #cleaneating #vegan #glutenfree Click To TweetCinnamon Roll Protein Popcorn [Clean, Vegan, GF]
Ingredients
- 3 T popcorn kernals
- 1-2 T vanilla protein powder
- few dashes cinnamon
- oil spray of choice
Instructions
-
This is a good rule of thumb for 1 serving. This can easily be multiplied for a party full of people! Make as much as you need to serve your crowd.
-
Pop your popcorn using your preferred method. (I use an air popper)
-
Once you have popped your popcorn, spray the popcorn with the oil spray. Make sure to shake it around spray throughout so that most of the kernals are popped.
-
Once sprayed, sprinkle your cinnamon and vanilla protein powder on, shake and repeat until the kernals are all covered.
-
Eat and enjoy!
Recipe Notes
This recipe can be made to taste. Use as much cinnamon and protein powder as desired. I would do about 1:1 or 1:2 cinnamon to protein powder ratio for the spices.
